Luna Negra is one of the longest running publications at Kent State University. We are a platform for the creative and artistic Kent State student body. We welcome work from any Kent State student longing to share their creativity. We strive to amplify your voices. We want you to be heard.
We accept any form of creative work that can find a home on a page. We accept original, unpublished written work including prose, poetry and creative nonfiction, as well as visual work including fine art, photography and design. We welcome vibrant and dynamic works that may live outside the above categories. We welcome the bold, the new and the different.
We accept simultaneous submissions, but we ask that you notify us immediately if your submission is accepted elsewhere. For written submissions we request .doc/.docx or .pdf file types. For visual submissions we accept .pdf, high-resolution .jpg, or .tiff file types (tiff files are preferred). The DPI for files should be 300 or higher if submitting for print.
For questions and concerns regarding the submission process, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. We thank you for trusting our publication as a home for your art.
In order to get a stronger sense of the poet’s style and voice, we encourage the submission of three to five poems, though we are also happy to accept submissions with fewer pieces. We request that the submitter sends us one submission with a single document of multiple poems rather than multiple submissions.
We request .doc/.docx or .pdf file types.
